Stories of Black Leadership – II

In partnership with J.P. Morgan, Inspiring Legacies was a portrait commission by award-winning photographer Misan Harriman that aimed to make visible the journeys of pioneering Black British women who have excelled beyond measure, inspired many and left a lasting legacy that builds up those around us.

As Creative director for the Black Cultural Archives I was invited to design, curate and produce the third and final exhibition in the Stories of Black leadership series, commissioned by the Black Cultural Archives as part of their 40th Anniversary celebrations.

In reflecting on their own history of inspirational women, BCA took the opportunity to proudly look outward to Black female leadership across Britain. Alongside Misan’s superb images, this final exhibition also featured audio experiences of five women in leadership: Dame Elizabeth Anionwu, Bishop Rose Hudson-Wilkin MBE, Claire Ighodaro CBE, Dame Donna Kinnair, and Jacky Wright.
