My creative journey began at Camberwell School of Arts in the early 1980s, where my studies in graphic design ran parallel to my emergence as one of the UK’s pioneering graffiti artists.
As a founding member of the Chrome Angelz, I helped to establish the foundations of British graffiti culture and took part in the UK’s first exhibition of graffiti art at Bristol’s Arnolfini Gallery in 1985. Working under the name PRIDE, I went on to deliver commissions for the BBC, TDK Channel 4, Nike, and Swatch, developing an experimental approach that combined design thinking with the fearless expression of Hip Hop culture.
Alongside this, I led workshops for young people and quickly recognised the power of creativity to build confidence, identity, and connection. This early commitment to engagement and empowerment has continued to shape a career that spans the arts, education, and organisational development.
In the corporate sector, I have led creative teams and strategic design programmes for global firms including Michelin, Hogan Lovells, Herbert Smith Freehills, and DAC Beachcroft, directing major brand campaigns and overseeing the delivery of global creative services. Throughout, I have maintained a strong commitment to mentorship and social impact, supporting young creatives through organisations such as The Sorrell Foundation and Somerset House to widen access to education, employment, and enterprise.
As a qualified wellbeing practitioner and creative health consultant, I have directed and advised on programmes that unite art, culture, and emotional learning, including Valuing Life with the Young Brent Foundation, Sampling Nature with the Natural History Museum, and the redevelopment of Grove Park Youth Club into a model of creative wellbeing.
Across the cultural sector, my leadership and advisory roles have encompassed organisations such as the Black Cultural Archives and Talawa Theatre Company, championing representation, storytelling, and inclusion.
Today, I draw on over three decades of cross-sector experience to connect creativity with wellbeing, identity, and social change. My lifelong engagement with graffiti culture continues through exhibitions and curatorial projects, from Beyond the Streets at Saatchi Gallery in 2023, to Masters of Invention at the Lettering Arts Trust in 2019, celebrating creativity as a catalyst for transformation, healing, and innovation.
